PM Narendra Modi’s speech on India’s 75th Independence day gave a clear picture of the Government’s plan for India.“In our eyes, there must be a dream: a dream to capture the world market,” he said about Indian business. He committed the government’s full support to startups.

Rs 100-trillion Infrastructure Plan

This is an initiative to beef up roads, ports, airports, which will create jobs and lead India towards the development

Pradhan Mantri Gatishakti Bharat Master Plan

This will boost up the productivity of industries and will create tremendous job opportunity

Mission Circular Economy

This initiative will replace petroleum with other forms of energy to make India energy independent by 2047.

A National Hydrogen Mission

Stressing on the need for energy independence, Modi while announcing the mission said the plan involves India becoming a global hub for green hydrogen production and exports. This initiative can beat the backdrop of India spending Rs12 trillion annually to meet the energy needs. The government also aims to extend the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for manufacturing electrolyzers to produce green hydrogen.

Made in India projects

Focusing again on Indian-made, PM emphasized on made-in-India aircraft and mobile phones. He said India used to import mobile phones in large numbers but is now exporting them as well. He asked exporters to make goods that were not merely competitive but also high quality, saying “your goods are brand ambassadors for the country”.

Ration shops or the mid-day meal scheme

As Malnutrition was affecting the growth of children in low-income groups. Through ration shops or the mid-day meal scheme, fortified rice will be made available under every government programme by 2024.

75 Vande Bharat trains would be in place by 2023

As many as 75 Vande Bharat trains would be in place by 2023. India will have better air connectivity in the coming years with new airports. Work to connect capitals in the northeastern region with rail services will be completed soon.

Production-linked incentive plan

The PM asked state governments to revisit unnecessary regulations and scrap those that slowed down the system.

Environment Security

The Indian Railway system will meet the net-zero target by 2030; India has already surpassed the developed world in meeting per capita emission levels and the emphasis on renewable forms of power will further reduce the country’s environmental impact. “Green energy will lead to green jobs,” he said.

Elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir “soon”
